Saint Joseph Catholic Church is pleased to have been chosen an official Jubilee 2025 pilgrimage site in the Diocese of Helena, Montana. On behalf of our Bishop, Austin Anthony Vetter, D.D., Bishop Of Helena, we welcome you, and hope that our parish might be a part of your Jubilee Year celebration of Hope.

The town of Libby is situated in beautiful Lincoln County. Saint Joseph parish consists of approximately 3600 square miles of Northwest Montana. We are easily accessible on US Hwy 2, or by Amtrak daily service from points east or west.

Consider making your Jubilee 2025 observance part of a family vacation. Some of the nearby outdoor activities are the magnificent Kootenai Falls, Ross Creek Cedars state park (Closed summer 2025 for updating, please check here for status: https://www.fs.usda.gov/alerts/kootenai/alerts-notices/?aid=93770), or the many hiking trails throughout the Cabinet Mountain area.

The Saint Joseph parish community is eager to share with you some of the things we love about our church. While visiting Saint Joseph’s you will find the antique statuary of the Madonna and Child and Saint Joseph that were inherited from the historic Saint Joseph Church in Butte, Montana. The statues of the Madonna and Child and Saint Joseph were created in 1913 by the Daprato Statuary Company of Chicago, Illinois. The stations of the Cross in Saint Joseph Church are true masterpieces of leaded glass executed by the French master craftsmen at Vitraux d’Art Rault. There are only about 13 of their installations throughout the United States. They are noted for utilizing “slab glass” and painted glass together. At the heart of Catholic worship is, of course, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. The altar at the center of Divine Worship in this church was carved in Spain from Botticino marble. It depicts our Blessed Lord and His disciples at the Passover meal during which He instituted the Holy Eucharist for our salvation. The altar is certainly a work of art, but what is more precious, is that this altar contains the relics of Pope Saint Victor I, Bishop of Rome from around 187 AD until his holy martyrdom a decade later. Perhaps his feast Day, July 28, would be a great time to make your Jubilee pilgrimage to Saint Joseph’s.



Again, the Saint Joseph parish community is most eager to welcome our fellow Catholic pilgrims. The parish hall is available for group activities and meals, special Mass times can be arranged for groups, and the Sacrament of penance is available by appointment, as well as at the regular posted times.
